Our founder, Kevin Parker, spent much of his early career working out of the back of cargo vans himself – first in the construction industry, then in food delivery, then uniform delivery and finally in first aid equipment service and installation. These many years of firsthand experience in cargo vans drove him to look for a better solution – there must be a way that van interiors could be made safer, quieter, lighter, more ergonomic and better organized. A review of the local upfitting options and discussions with other van operators left him convinced that the market in the region was underserved and ready for change.
And so, in 2004, Advantage Outfitters was born in Valley Stream, NY. The company started its journey as one of Ranger Design’s first partners in the United States – pairing tough, innovative products with our commitment to quality installations on time, every time. As the years have gone by, we have continually added to our product range while ensuring that we only partner with world-class manufacturers who offer innovative and proven products.
In 2012, Kevin’s two sons, Brent and Rick, came into ownership of the business. Under their leadership and passion, the business continued its exponential growth, first adding additional installation and warehouse capabilities in New York. Advantage then added a New Jersey location, where in just three years the company outgrew facilities four times and tripled our mobile installation fleet – rapidly expanding to fill demand.
Today Advantage Outfitters is positioned as a market leader throughout the New York City metro region. We maintain the area’s largest mobile installation fleet, as well as one of the deepest local inventories of van equipment across two regional warehouses, covering every aspect of commercial van upfitting.
